Some chocolates are to be equally distributed among the students of a certain class. There is a shortage of 24 chocolates when each student gets 7 chocolates but 18 chocolates are left undistributed if 6 chocolates are given to each of the students. Find the number of students in the class and the number of chocolates to be distributed among them.

7S = C +24 ---- (1)

6S = C – 18 ---- (2)

Substituting the S in equation 1.

7S = C +24

C= 7 x 42 – 24

C = 294 -24

C = 270.
