Hello mate

here is the answer of your question

some farmers use calcium hydroxide to control soil acidity . give the importance of this procedure and describe how acid rain is formed

Answer no.1

= The effects of agricultural lime on soil are: it increases the pH of acidic soil (the lower the pH the more acidic the soil); in other words, soil acidity is reduced and alkalinity increased. it provides a source of calcium and magnesium for plants. it permits improved water penetration for acidic soils

Answer no.2

Calcium hydroxide is a strong base and rapidly ionizes to Ca⁺⁺ and OH⁻ ions. The calcium ions replace absorbed H ions on the soil colloid and thereby neutralize soil acidity. The carbonic acid formed (H₂CO₃) is a weak acid and partially ionizes to H⁺ and CO₂⁻² ions.

Explanation:

calcium hydroxide is used by farmer to control soil acidity because calcium hydroxid is a strong base which react with acid to form salt and water both are necessary for the plant salt helps to kill

microorganism and water is used by the plant.

  • there is many process by which acid rain is formed.

  • in atmosphere many gases are present while thunderstorm the temperature of that particular area of atmosphere is high due to which some gases become active and it react with water to form weak acid like HNo3 ,HNo2 etc

  • Acid train is also formed due to presence of carbon dioxide carbon monoxide etc in the cloud.
