some fertlizers are mixed with sand. how can you separate fertilizer from the sand?

You might be able to dissolve the fertilizers in water, therefore mix the sand and fertilizers in water give the fertilizers chance to dissolve, then drain off leaving you with sand and fertilizer separated ... hope this helps...
