Some governments spend a lot of public money training individuals to be successful in international sporting events. Some people believe that this money should be spent on things that will benefit the general public instead. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

I extremely disagree with the statement as their should be, some extent of, support to the sports category by the government. The government should try to spot talent and train it so as the dignity of our country increases in sports. The budget, created by the government, decides how much money would be given for each sector in India. Also some money dedicated in public interest gets used up in repairing damaged public property damaged in public demonstrations, weather, etc. People should also care of the public property so as the government can use the money to benefit the public.
