Acc. to question

let no. of guavas be x

let no. of apples be y
then,

x+y=15 ------1
nd
3x+12y=72
or
3(x+4y)=72
x+4y=24 --------2

subtracting equ 1 frm 2

x+4y=24
-x-y= -15
—————
3y= 9
y= 3
no. of apples = 3
