Some hot water was added to three times its mass of cold water at 10 ºC and the resulting temperature was found to be 20 ºC. What was the temperature of the hot water ?​

Heat lost by hot water = Heat gained by cold water

m(h) s dT = m(c) s dT

But given m(c) = 3 m(h)

x - 20 = 3(20-10)

x - 20 = 30

x = 50
