ice will not be melt because 0 c is freezing point

the state of ice at 0 degree can be solid or liquid. On heating, even though all the ice has converted into liquid, the temperature shows 0 degree, it is because the energy supplied (heat ) is used to break the fore of attraction between particles and thus convert to liquid. this heat is hidden and is known as latend heat of fusion. Similary when it reaches 100 degree Celsius the heat supplied is used to convert liquid to gas. This heat is called latend heat of vaporization.
