Given:

Some mangoes are purchased at 8 mangoes/rs

Some mangoes are purchased at 6 mangoes/rs

Total investment for both is the same

They are sold at 3.5 mangoes/rs

To Find:

The percentage profit/loss

Solution:

Find the number of mangoes bought with Rs 2:

Total mangoes bought at 8 mangoes/rs = 8

Total mangoes bought at 6 mangoes/rs = 6

Total mangoes = 8 + 6

Total manages = 14

Find the average cost of a mango:

14 mangoes = Rs 2

1 mango = 2 ÷ 14

1 mango = Rs 1/7

Find the selling price of a mango:

3.5 mangoes = Rs 1

1 mango = 1 ÷ 3.5

1 mango = Rs 2/7

Find the profit:

Profit = 2/7 - 1/7

Profit = Rs 1/7

Find the profit percentage:

Profit percentage = (1/7 ÷ 1/7) x 100

Profit percentage = 100%

Answer: The profit percentage is 100%
