Threre are many marine islands that are actually peaks of sea mountains. These are mountains which rise from the ocean floor but do not reach thesea level. Seamountsare generally extinct volcanoes which rise abruplty from the ocean bed. Some mountain peaks hardly reach the sea level andsome erode deep into thesea.
