When some of the food that we eat is not broken down into tiny particles in the digestive system it is thrown out of our body as undigested waste.

  • The food we eat contains large macromolecules, which are not absorbed by the body as such.
  • Firstly, these macromolecules are broken down into smaller absorbable forms by the process called Digestion.
  • After digestion, all the useful part gets absorbed in our blood vessels through the small intestine for providing us with energy.
  • Here, some of the particles remain the same and do not get digested, they further pass to our large intestine.
  • In the large intestine, all the water is reabsorbed, and then waste particles called feces are passed into the rectum for storage.
  • Feces now are removed from our body when the signal comes from our Brain and this whole process is known as egestion.
