Answer:

Ist.part distance = xkm

2nd. = 765-x km

x/60 +(765-x)/96=9

multiply by 480

8x+5 (765-x) = 4320

8x +3825-5x = 4320

3x = 4320-3825

3x = 495

x = 495/3=I65

by car dist= x =165 km

time I65 / 60=2 3/4hrs

By train dist=765-165=6ookm

time = 600 / 96=6.1/4 hrs

Answer:

time taken by train = 6hrs 15min

distance covered by train = 600 kms

Step-by-step explanation:

Let time taken by train = x

and time taken by car = y

=》x+y =9 (1)

=》60x+96y=765 (2)

Dividing (2) by 3:-

20x+32y=255 (3)

Multiplying (1) by 20:-

20x+20y=180 (4)

Subtracting (4) from (3):-

12y=75

y=75/12

=6.25hrs

=6hrs 15 mins

Therefore time taken by train = 6hrs 15mins

Disgance travelled by train = 96×y

=96×6.25

=600
