Answer:

let distance covered at 60kmperh be x

td=555km

s1=60km/h

s2=75km/h

total time =8 hours

time taken for 60km/h=x/60

rest distance =555-x/75

atq

x/60+555-x/75=8 hours

5x -4x+2220/300=8

x+2220=2400

x=2400-2220

x=180km

The distance covered by 60 km/hr speed  is 180 km.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

Distance covered = 555 km

Speed of car = 60 km /hr

if speed is increased by 15 km/hr, the new speed becomes

60+15 = 75  km/hr

So, First part of distance be x km

Second part of distance be 555-x

Total time taken by them = 8 hours

According to question, it becomes,

\dfrac{x}{60}+\dfrac{555-x}{75}=8\\\\\dfrac{5x+4(555-x)}{300}=8\\\\5x+2220-4x=300\times 8\\\\x+2220=2400\\\\x=2400-2220\\\\x=180

Hence, the distance covered by 60 km/hr speed  is 180 km.
