Step-by-step explanation:

let the time taken by the car be x hrs for 60 km/h and y hrs for 15km/h.

therefore distance covered by the car with speed of 60km/h=60x

bistance coverd by the car with the speed of 15km/m=15y

According to question we have x+y =8....(1)

60x +15y=555....(2)

15(4x+y)=555

4x+y=555/5

4x+y=37.....(5)

multiplying (1)by 4,we get

x+y=8..(1)

4x+4y=32....(4)

subtracting (3) with (4), we get

37-32

x=5

therefore time taken by the car at the speed of 60km/h is 5hrs

the car with the speed of 60km/h =60×5

300km
