yes some people do think that a democracy produces less efficient and effective government.

Democracy is a form of government where everyone has the right to express their opinion and as such there can exist no democratic government where everyone agrees on one thing. I guess a suitable example would be the current situation in India, with the passing of the CAA, many parts of India are up in flames, vandalism of public property is widespread, students are not going to school either because of fear or there being a curfew, adults can't go to their jobs, in the end it just damages our economy.
