some plants have deep red ,violet or brown leaves .do these laeves carry out photosynthesis

due to secretion of enzymes the leaves lose the chlorophyll and turns to red,violet or brown
photosynthesis in plants generally involves the green pigment chlorophyll and generates oxygen
hence the plant which does not contain chlorophyll cant carry out photosynthesis....

Yes, they also carry out photosynthesis .

REASON:
Because the violet , red and brown pigments mask the green colour. But photosynthesis takes place in these plants also.
