Some say the world will end in fire
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favour fire.
But if it had to perish twice
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

in these lines, the poet tries to say that the world will either end by hatred ( fire) or by coldness towards each other ( ice).
the poet ahead gives his personal opinion about hatred and jelousy saying that the world is most likely to end in fire. but there is enough of indifference among people to make the world end with ice.
