After a global nuclear war , the clouds , due to the smoke produced by those weapons ,form around the earth and may prevent sunlight from reaching the earth thus producing a nuclear winter. Hope that helps.

Answer:

Nuclear Winter is the winter like cold climatic condition which can follow a nuclear war due to the sky being covered by an enormous amount of dust particles containing carbon and ash. This will not allow the rays the Sun to fall on the Earth and all life will be destroyed by this winter.
