One of the reasons that India is lagging behind is bcz of gender cap. In India, even now in many states women are not given equal status as that of men. This might be due to the wrong concept of the society bcz of the lack of proper education.(Educated people will understand that girls should be given equal opportunity, else the country won't grow)
Christine Lagarde(the first woman financial minister of France) once said in her speech at White House that the most important factor for the development of a country is to provide learning, labour and leadership to women.
She also had emphasized the adage"If u educate a boy, u educate a man. If u educate a girl, u r educating the entire village".
From the above lines we can understand the importance of providing education to girls.
If a woman also gets a job, then the per-capita income of the country will doubles.
The living conditions of the family improves dramatically.
The economy will expand.
So the participation of women is an important factor that can even decide the economy and power of a country!

So for providing better facilities to women, the government has decided to reserve seats for women in politics. It's for their involvement in politics, and thereby the women community should not feel alianated from the dominant men community. The rule was made to aim at the progress of women in every field....and thereby developing the country...
