Some soldiers of barrack has provision for 30 days. After 10 days 50 soldiers left , the provision lasted for 10 more days. how many soldiers were there in the beginning?

Food consumed in 10 days = 10np

Remaining food = 30np-10np= 20np

60 soldiers left the barrack and the food lasted 10 days more. i.e for next 20+10=30 days

(n-60)30p = 20np

30(n-60)=20n

30n-1800=20n

10n=1800

n=180

Ans: There were 180 soldiers in the beginning
