Answer:

a) In a wet mount, a drop of water is used to suspend the specimen between the slide and coverslip. This method helps prevent air bubbles from being trapped under the coverslip. This is to have sufficient water to fill the space between the coverslip and slide.

b) Glycerin is added to avoid drying of the specimen. Also, glycerin reflects light which helps in obtaining a clearer image under the microscope.

I hope this helps. If it does then please mark it as the Brainliest answer!

Reasons for the given actions,

(a) Keep the specimen in water for a while.

=> A drop of water is utilized to sustain the specimen between the slide and the coverslip in a wet mount.

=> Air bubbles are less likely to get trapped under the coverslip using this procedure.

=> This is to ensure that there is enough water between the coverslip and the slide.

(b)  Add glycerin to the section.

=> For avoiding the drying of the specimen glycerin is used.

=> Glycerin also reflects light, allowing for a sharper image under the microscope.
