Subtract 1from 2 we get
240/n - 240/n-4=5
240(n-4-n)=5n^2-20n
5n^2-20n+960=0
N^2-4n+192=0

Therefore n =16or-12
Since number of students can't be negative n=16

Hence 16students planned the picnic and only 12 students went
