Answer:

110 tickets of Rs 100 were sold.

Step-by-step explanation:

⇒ We have 2 types of tickets here.

Cost of 1st type of tickets = Rs 200

Cost of 2nd type of tickets = Rs 100

⇒ Now given that the sale of 1st type of ticket is 20 more in numbers than the sale of 2nd type of tickets.

So let the number of 2nd type of tickets sold = x

Then  the number of 1st  type of tickets sold = x + 20

⇒  Now according to given data, we have

200 ( x + 20 ) + 100 x = 37,000

200 x + 4000 + 100 x = 37000

300 x = 37000 - 4000

300 x = 33000

      Dividing by 300 on both sides, we have

  x = 110

110 tickets of Rs 100 were sold.

Answer:

110

Step-by-step explanation:

Define x:

Let the number of Rs 100 tickets sold be x

The number of tickets of Rs 200 sold was 20 more than the number of tickets of Rs 100.

⇒ The number of Rs 200 tickets sold is (x + 20)

Solve x:

Total amount received is Rs 37000

100x + 200(x + 20) = 37000

100x + 200x + 4000 = 37000

300x + 4000 = 37000

300x = 33000

x = 110

Find the number of Rs 100 tickets sold:

Number of Rs 100 = x = 110

Answer: 110 of the Rs 100 tickets were sold
