Consumer protection is the practice of safeguarding buyers of goods and services, and the public, against unfair practices in the marketplace

The bill stated that every person has four basic consumer rights—the right to be informed, the right to choose, the right to safety, and the right to be heard. These rights received a lot of attention from the consumer movement, a movement to pass laws protecting consumers from unfair and unsafe business practices.

It provides them with the basic rights such as the right to be protected against hazardous goods, right to protect themselves against Unfair Trade Practices, right to seek Redressal, the right to Consumer education, etc. ... It has also reduced the burden of huge court fees which had to be paid by the consumers earlier

Hope it helps you!!
