Given current in resistor of 4 Ω = 3 A

we know that potential difference V = i x R

           ⇒ V = 3 x 4 = 12V

since both the resistors are in parallel the potential difference between both the resistors will be same ,V = 12V

so the current in both the resistors is given by,

                    i = V / R

               ⇒  i = 12 / 2 = 6A

∴the total current through the ammeter = 3 + 6 = 9A.

HOPE THIS HELPS YOU !!
