Hello mate!!
Here's ur answer:-
Total distance for the triathlon=5 km
Distance covered for cycling=3km 50m
Distance covered for running=1km250m
So, total distance covered in the two activities=[3km 50m+1km 250m]= 4km 300m
Hence distance covered in swimming= 5km-4km 300m. (5km=5000m &4km 300m=4300m)
Therefore distance covered in Swimming= (5000m-4300m) = 700m
So distance covered in Swimming is 700m
Hope the answer helps you

Hi Alena,

Here is your answer:

Cycling- 3 km 50 m

Running- 1 km 250 m

Swimming- ?

If the total distance is 5km how much distance is covered in swimming?

=  3km 50m + 1 km 250m

= 4 km 300 m

= 4 km 300 m - 5km 000m

= 0 km 700m

therefore 700 m.
