Hey

Given :-

A ( 2 , 0 )

B ( 0 , 2 / 9 )

Midpoint of AB = P ( 1 , p / 3 )

And Q ( -1 , 3p )

To prove :-

the equation 5x + 3y + 2 = 0 passes through point Q .

Now ,

If we put the value of x and y of Q ,in the given equation and if it will be 0 , then it will be said that this Q ( -1 , 3p ) passes through given equation .

Now ,

A ( 2 , 0 )

B ( 0 , 2 / 9 )

And ,

P ( 1 , p/3 )

By mid point concept :-

0 + 2 / 9 / 2 = p/3

=> 2 / 9 * 1 / 2 = p / 3

=> 1 / 3 = p

Now ,

putting value of p in the points :-

So ,

P ( 1 , p/3 )

P ( 1 , 1 / 3 * 1 / 3 )

P ( 1 , 1 / 9 )

Now ,

Q ( -1 , 3* 1/3 )

Q ( -1 , 1 )

And we will put the value of x and y of point Q in the equation ,

So ,

5x + 3y + 2

= 5 ( -1 ) + 3 ( 1 ) + 2

= -5 + 3 + 2

= -5 + 5

= 0

So , the points Q ( -1 , 3p ) passes through the equation 5x + 3y + 2 = 0 .

thanks :)

locomaniac: thank you! :^)
