Prostate gland produces an enzyme called as “profibrinolysis” ,which liquifys the semen.
Liquifies in the sense that semen is a mixture of large amount of nutrient which is essential for the maturation,and nutrient for the sperm but these nutrient makes the semen thick colloid like solution also called semen clot and hence it is difficult for the sperm to travel in these thick fluid through vagina towards the fallopian tube.
Hence these enzymes are secreted as soon as semen is released into the vagina so, as to dilute the thick semen contents so as to provide free motion to the sperm.
