Something is wrong with our conception of light..........................
when we continuosly pour water on a wall the wall gets wetter and wetter. But if we constantly incident a beam of light why there is no increase in the intensity of light.

intensity of light depends upon the source of light

it has nothing to be related with wall

And also

water is a tangible substance

whereas light is intangible
