ANSWER:-

• Sometimes when there are two eggs released from the ovaries at a time but may not be fertilized by the same sperm and are fertilised by two different sperms. Then in such cases, the twins are dizygotic which means that they are not identical.

• A not identical twin is also called a Fraternal twin. Fraternal are more common than identical twins as they are those that evolve from two separate eggs which are fertilized by different sperm. Fraternal twins may or may not be of the same gender and are not necessary to resemble each other more than the two offspring from the same parents. Hence, sometimes twins are dissimilar.

• Whereas, Sometimes, when a single egg is fertilized from the ovaries then it may split into two in the initial stages of cell division. Then in such cases, the twins are monozygotic which means that they are identical.
