Somnath Temple is one of the greatest temples of India. It has great significance. It is the first temple which exist before the commencement of the Christian era. Somnath Temple is situated in Gujarat. It’s popularity is exceeded by the "Dwarkadhish" Temple in Dwarka. It is located 5 km from Junagadh. It is also known to be one of the Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and is believed to be the place from where Lord Krishna embarked his last journey. It is almost destroyed 20 times in past. It was firstly destroyed on January 1026. It is built on the sea shore and is believed to have been built in 4 phases. The one in gold built by Lord Som (Moon God), the silver by Ravi (Sun God), the wood by Lord Krishna and the stone by King Bhimadeva. The temple has shikhara, Garbhagriha, sabha mandap and the nritya mandap. And from Somnath Se-shore there is no stair-light land up to the Antarctica.
