ELEMENTS

Elements are individual atoms with specific number of protons and neutrons which band together to make a substance of that element.

(The proton number is also called atomic number)

Note that a single element cannot be broken down further my chemical processes.

MIXTURES

Mixtures are made by mixing two or more substances, these here react or bond together through chemical processes.

Mixtures can be broken down to individual substances.

Remember that the elementary substance of an mixture is an element.
