Somya likes to buy books and copies. To finish a copy she wastes a lot of space and leaves most of the pages blank. When she finds that her bookshelf is full of old copies and books she just throws them in the dustbin. Once her cousin Abhishek visited her home. On seeing such wastage of papers he said to her that this
practice of hers is actually the cause of deforestation and she must stop this immediately.

(a) Deforestation of forest land, which the local villages used for millions of years as a source of energy. As raw material for paper is obtained from pulp of these trees and cutting more and more trees for paper industry leads to deforestation.
