The distance from Sonal's office to the endpoint is 5km in the southeast direction.

Let the starting point be O and the endpoint be D.

From the figure, OC=3km and CD=BD-BC

CD=6-2=4km

Now in ΔOCD, using the Pythagoras theorem,
