Sonali runs an industry in a shed which is in the shape of a cuboid surmounted by a half / cylinder (see
figure). If the base of the shed is of dimension 7m by 15 m, and the height of the cuboidal portion is 8
m. Based on the given figure, answer the following questions: find the lateral surface area of cuboid

lsa \: of \: cuboid \:  = 2h( \: l + b \: )

Given :

Length = 15m

Breadth = 7m

Height = 8m

To Find :

Lateral surface area of the cuboid

According to the formula,

= 2 ( 8 ) ( 15 + 7 )

= 16 ( 22 )

= 352 m²

Therefore, the lateral surface of the cuboid is 352 m².

MORE TO KNOW :

Cuboid: A cuboid is also a polyhedron having six faces, eight vertices and twelve edges. The faces of the cuboid are parallel. But not all the faces of a cuboid are equal in dimensions.

Total Surface area = 2 (Length x Breadth + breadth x height + Length x height)

Lateral Surface area = 2 height(length + breadth)

Volume of the cuboid = (length × breadth × height)

Diagonal of the cuboid =√( l² + b² +h²)

Perimeter of cuboid = 4 (length + breadth + height)

Hope it helps !!
