Sonar device a submarine sends out signal and receives an echo 4 seconds later. Calculate the speed of sound in water if the distance of the object from the submarine is 3200 metre.​

time to go = 2.5 seconds

time to come = 2.5 seconds

total time = 5 seconds

distance = 3625 m

speed of sound in water = distance covered by sound /time.

= 3625/2.5

= 1450 m/s.

the speed of sound is 1450 m/s
