Solution:-

★Let the present ages of Sonu be 4x and Monu be 5x

According to the given condition

After five years Sonu's age = 4x + 5

Monu's age = 5x + 5

→ 4x + 5 / 5x + 5 = 7/8

→ 8(4x + 5) = 7(5x + 5)

→ 32x + 40 = 35x + 35

→ 40-35 = 35x - 32x

→ 3x = 5

Hence,

According to the given condition

Present age of Sonu = 4x × 3x = 12x Value of x we get= 5 . so,

12×5= 60 years

Present age of Monu = 5x × 3x= 15x

Value of x we get 5 so,

15×5= 75 years.

Sonu's age is 60 years.

Monu's age is 75 years.
