QUESTION -

Sonu borrowed a sum of 2000 from a bank for 18 months if the rate is 10% per annum compounds half yearly .

Find compound interest.

SOLUTION :

From the above question, we can gather the following information .....

Sonu borrowed a sum of 2000 from a bank for 18 months if the rate is 10% per annum compounds half yearly .

Principle = Rs. 2000

Time = 3 half years.

Rate = 10% per annum = 5 % per half year.

A = 2000 × [ 1 + ( R / 2 ) / 200 ] ^ { 2t )

=> A = 2000 × [ 1.1 ] ^ 3

=> A = 2000 × 1.331

=> A = Rs. 2662 .......... { A 1 }

Compound Interest = A - P

=> C.I = 2000 ( 1.331 - 1 )

=> C.I = 2000 × 0.331 = Rs. 662 ....... { A 2 }
