Sophia is sitting on the roof of her house on a moonless night looking up at a collection of stars. She mentally marked them with numbers from 1 to n. She picked out the brightest star in the sky and connected them with other stars in decreasing order of brightness. Shes bewildered with such a large connected network of stars. She wants to know which star is dimmest. Can you help her?

Answer:

Hello…. I don’t know what exactly your question here is? Besides I don’t know how you related it with Math subject?

Step-by-step explanation:

But still as far as I can understand, what you mean to say is that Sophia numbered the stars in decreasing order of their brightness. And then you also said that the first star that she named was number 1.

Now looking at the possibilities here, there may be unlimited number of stars in the sky on a moonless night. So, there is also possibility that she might in fact have unlimited networks of stars that she might have connected to each other.

Now if she named the brightest star as number 1 then the next star would be named as next number 2. And the last star in the network that she named should in fact be dimmest star which is n.

So the nth star that she named should in fact be dimmest star in the collection.
