  • B. Above 80 db

  • C. Above 50 db

  • D. Above 30 db

  • B. Above 80 db

« SI unit of loudness is decibels (db). »

Amplitude is the degree of sensation in the ear.

The sensation produced in the ear which enables us to distinguish between a loud and a faint sound is loudness.

We know that the loudness of sound depends on the amplitude of vibration. More the amplitude, loud is the sound produced. And when the amplitude is small the sound produced is feeble.

It is known that above 80db the sound becomes physically painful.
