See when you are in a room or a hall with more number of people then what happens is that the sound is instantly getting vibrated and is being reflected here to there so it is not getting so loud but when there is more space there is more area for reflection so it gets amplified. So this why sound in an empty hall is louder then when it is full of audience.​
