Sound needs a medium through which it can travel through. But in the atmosphere of space, there is no air present, hence cannot travel outer space.
Sounds of explosion take place are not heard by person on the other planet because there is no air for the propagation of sound. Since sounds needs a medium to propagate, hence it cannot travel to another planet whatsoever.

Sound needs material medium to travel. But in space there is no air . That is just likely as that of vacuum.
And in a vacuum sound can't be heard.
That's why it is not audible to person on earth.
