Sound produced by a stretched wire is due to vibrations. Show by an activity.

Take a metallic with AB and stretch it titely between two nails fix on the table top. When we pluck the wire a sound is heated. If a V shape paper rider(R) is placed near the centre of the wire,it start vibrating and in case rider is at the centre of the wire it flies  off. This prove that sound is produce due to the vibration of wire.
