Sound,
We have,
Sound produced by thunderstorm is heard after 10 secs the lightning was seen,
Have to find the approximate distance of the cloud.
Now as we know that the speed of light is 3 lakh km/secs, which is like instantaneous.
And the speed of sound through air is 343 m/secs.
As the light is instantaneous(compared to the speed of sound), the sound had came with speed 343 m/secs from the source and had took 10 secs.
So the distance of the source (thundercloud) will be = 343 × 10 m
= 3430 m or, 3.43 km
That's it
