Sound Travels faster in Ice or water and why ? Please someone explain it properly.???

SOUND TRAVELS FASTER IN ICE BECAUSE THE PARTICLES OF ICE ARE CLOSER THAN WATER. SO, THEY CAN PAAS THE SOUND VIBRATE FASTER.

Saihen: But we know that as temperature is decreased then kinetic energy also decreases . Also ice has open cage structure due to which its same amount of water has lesser volume than it . So the particles in ice are far apart as compared to water. This was my main confusion please try to solve it in terms of kinetic energy and volume.
