Solution :

Given:

✏ Frequency of sound wave = 3kHz

✏ Wavelength of sound wave = 35cm

To Find:

✏ Time required for sound wave to travel 1.5 km.

Formula:

✏ Relation between frequency, wave length and wave velocity is given by

 \bigstar \:  \underline{ \boxed{ \bold{ \sf{ \pink{Wave \: velocity = Frequency \times Wavelength}}}}} \:  \bigstar

✏ Relation between velocity, distance and time is given by

 \bigstar \:  \underline{ \boxed{ \bold{ \sf{ \blue{Velocity =  \frac{Distance}{Time}}}}}}

Conversation:

✏ 3 kHz = 3000 Hz

✏ 35 cm = 0.35 m

✏ 1.5 km = 1500 m

Calculation:

  • Calculation of velocity :

 \mapsto \sf \: Velocity =  \nu \times  \lambda = 3000 \times 0.35 \\  \\  \mapsto \sf \:  \underline{ \red{Velocity = 1050 \: mps}} \:  \bigstar

  • Calculation of time :

 \mapsto \sf \: Time =  \frac{Distance}{Velocity}  \\  \\  \mapsto \sf \: Time =  \frac{1500}{1050}  \\  \\  \mapsto \:  \underline{ \boxed{ \bold{ \sf{ \orange{Time = 1.43 \: s}}}}} \:  \green{ \star}
