Sound waves A & B are travelling in two different media. Find which wave will

be travelling faster, when:

(i) A is travelling in water and B is travelling in CO2.

(ii) A is travelling in CO2 and B is travelling in hydrogen

(a)"water"
(b)co2
reason:water molecules are very close so they viberate more quickly therefore sound waves travel faster.

Answer:

(i)Water

(ii)Hydrogen

Explanation:

(i)Sound wave A will travel faster than sound wave B because sound travels faster in water than in gases.

(i)Sound wave A will travel faster than sound wave B because sound travels faster in water than in gases.(ii) Sound wave B will travel faster than sound wave A because speed of sound is directly proportional to the density of the medium.
