The Amazon basin receives high quantities of rainfall. It has the biggest rainfall flood registered. There are differences between certain part of the Amazon basin. For example, the most southern and western points have less rainfall than the rest of the territory. Also, higher altitudes receive less rainfall. Typically, the forest received about 3000mm of rainfall per year.
