If we draw two radius to end of he chord.
We get an isosceles triangle...
joining the centre to the chord, we get the height of the triangle and the isosceles triangle is divided into 2right angles triangle with hypotenuse as 13cm and base as 5cm(1/2 of length of chord)
Now 5^2+x^2=13^2
Solving this we get X=12cm
Therefore distance=12cm
