3x+y=6-----(1)
x-2y=3------(2)

multiplying equation no. 1 by 2
6x+ 2y=12

adding equation no.2 and 3
x-2y=3
6x+2y=12
-------------
7x=15
x=15/7

put x=15/7 in equation no. 2
x-2y=3
15/7-2y=3
-2y=3×7/15
-2y=21/15
-2y=7/5
y=7/5×-2
y=-7/10
