According to NCERT,

Plants take <50 % of sunlight

It uses 2-10 % of it for photosynthesis  (GPP)

ie  1-5 % of total radiation (PAR)

For respiration, it uses 20 %

ie  0.2 - 1 % of GPP

Amount left is NPP

ie 0.8 -4 % of GPP

or 1.6 - 8% of PAR

Gross primary productivity- rate of energy loss to metabolism and maintenance

it's the rate at which energy is stored as biomass by plants or other primary producers and made available to the consumers in the ecosystem.
